Love it. ❤ I still remember when having conversation with those who were not in your own immediate echo chamber was thought as productive and enlightening. It's easy to find things that you really believe in when you have to explain that position to someone who doesn't. It's also easy to find a new perspective as educational, through those same conversations. Today people just want to "feel" a predetermined way and are unable to vocalize why. It's often because there has been no rational thought within their own echo chamber, and a real conversation exposes the misgivings. Many on the far reaches of an opinion simply want to be "right", no matter how wrong they are, and silencing others keeps them from having to actually consider their position with logic. If you just don't agree that they are right, they get angry and stifle the conversation. Kind of opposite of an actual conversation. As long as critical thinking takes a back seat to "feelings", people will simply separate further into tribes, and nothing logical will evolve.
